Kiwis just love the water, we’re surrounded by it and we can’t get enough of it. Whatever the season, we are having fun in, on and around it. That’s why State proudly sponsors swimming in our communities.
Ours is an island nation. Nearly all of us live close to the water. Many of us spend a large part of our life in, on, or beside the water. From a young age our lives are defined by our association with water. As kids we love nothing better than an outing to the local pool or beach. And when we get older we swim lengths, sail boats, dive beneath the water’s surface or paddle across it.
As a nation we take pride in the elite athletes who represent our country in competitive swimming. But time spent in and on the water comes with a risk.
At State we saw a need for help
Help so all our children have the opportunity to learn to swim, keep themselves safe in the water and enjoy the water sports available to them. Help to ensure surf lifesavers continue their vital work on our beaches. And help getting us all out there, adults and children alike, active and enjoying our beautiful beaches and pools. It’s about reaching out to every New Zealander and saying “Come on in. The water’s fine”.
State’s sponsorship of swimming in NZ will help save lives by helping so many kiwis learn to swim, help save lives, teach survival skills, encourage FUN and a bit of healthy competition in the water.
A chance to WIN with State this summer
To celebrate this summer State is giving you the chance to WIN something close to their heart – State insurance FREE for a year. Your entry to the State Beach Series will automatically put you into the prize draw.

1. This promotion is offered by State, a business division of IAG New Zealand Limited (the Promoter).
2. This promotion opens at 1am, 17 October 2011 and closes at 7.15pm, 20 March 2012.
3. There is one (1) prize of, at the winner’s election, either a one year State car insurance policy or a one year State contents insurance policy, to a maximum value of $1000 (the Prize). If a Prize winner is an existing State customer, the Promoter will reimburse the cost of the most recent premium paid by the winner. If the winner pays by monthly instalments, the Promoter will reimburse the twelve most recent instalments paid. If the winner is not an existing State customer, the Promoter will reimburse the cost of the policy selected by the winner.
4. The Prize draw will be conducted at the State Beach Series prize-giving after event 17, on 20 March 2012.
5. At the Prize draw one Prize winner will be drawn at random from all of the participants entered in the State Beach Series events, who will be automatically entered into the Prize draw by virtue of their entry in the event.
6. Prize winners will be notified at the prize-giving.
7. Prize winners must be present at the prize-giving to receive their Prize. If any Prize winner is not present at the prize-giving, the Promoter may, at its discretion, declare the Prize forfeit and re-draw a new winner.
8. The Promoter’s decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
9. The Promoter is not responsible or liable for any winner’s inability to use their Prize. State underwriting criteria apply.
10. Prizes cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash.
11. The Promoter reserves the right to change or substitute the Prize at its sole discretion. If the Promoter substitutes the Prize for any reason it will do so with a prize of equal or greater value.
12. Notwithstanding paragraph 5 above, members of the Promoter’s marketing team and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter.
